InRhythm Propel Summit: DevOps Workshop

To truly understand the events that take place in an application, we need to have certain measures in place that will allow us to watch and comprehend the state of a system on all of its layers. By analyzing the state of the system overtime, we can observe patterns and remediate or improve the system based on the conclusions we make. Full-stack observability is needed for every enterprise to truly evolve and harden their system on all front’s from infrastructure to the application itself.

Today, there is a myriad set of tools that will help any application implement the core four data-types MELT (metrics, events, logs, and traces). However, an organization can easily be overwhelmed by figuring out which tool best fits their needs. Furthermore, the economic climate also plays a major factor. Many of these tools can easily exhaust the finances of an organization if not managed properly. In this workshop, we will discuss using open-source technologies to achieve full-stack observability using Prometheus and Grafana.
