InRhythm Propel Summit: Web Workshop

During our Spring Summit 2023 we briefly touched on Next.js by creating a simple application to display details about Star Wars films. In our workshop today we’re excited to take a focused deep dive into Next.js and will be exploring what an incremental adoption approach could look like for your own applications. If you’re looking to modernize your tech stack, you could be presented with numerous challenges such as:

• Legacy code that is difficult to understand and would take significant investment (in both time and dollars) to rewrite entirely.

• Load times increasing as complexity of your application grows, leading to unhappy users and poor SEO metrics.

• Your application wasn’t designed for mobile devices and updating your global styling would broke other critical pieces of the application.

Through this workshop we aim to discuss how you can begin to solve the above issues and transform your application. By converting a React application to use Next.js, discussing and showcasing the advantages of having access to your application backend via the Next.js framework, and exploring the lazy loading and code splitting features within the Next.js framework to supercharge your SEO performance; you’ll leave the workshop armed with the tools to conquer the problems above and more.
